Our First Wedding

This weekend, we were honoured to play a part in and celebrate the fabulous wedding of two dear friends in Cambridge. We discovered that, for the perfect wedding reception, you will need:

1 blissfully happy bride and groom
40 celebrating friends and family members
4 hampers packed with taste and care
4 chauffeured punts
An abundance of love
Blue skies, wispy clouds and warm sunshine (to combine).

We served the following picnic treats:

Crusty white baguettes
Homemade, super smooth, blue cheese mousse
Rachel and Chris's special wedding hummus
Homemade smoked salmon pate
Midnight roasted vegetables (peppers, tomatoes, aubergine and courgettes)
The bride and groom's choice of fine meats
Rustic breadsticks wrapped with Parma ham
Manchego cubes with quince jelly
Strawberries and grapes

And we're delighted to say, it turned out pretty well:

  1. It looks divine - the food, the weather and the happy couple. What a perfect day and what lucky guests to be spoiled by the culinary joys of Charlie and Evelyn's Table.... with huge amount of pride at such talented people. B xxx

This was indeed a truly perfect, wonderful day; a glorious blue sky, moving wedding ceremony, punting on the Cam whilst tucking into the most divine picnic you could imagine, created by friends from Charlie and Evelyn's hampers. The Blue Cheese Mousse is the food of the Gods. (I could have finished off the jar!) I really hope that the dreams and ambitions of these two extremely talented young people come to fruition.

  5. First of all, what a fantastic website; secondly, what amazing food! An hour's punting was turned from relaxing into blissful thanks to the truly gorgeous hampers! Not only did the food impress but also so did the delightful packaging - everything was just 110% perfect! The only thing that I can complain about was that I now crave blue cheese mousse and 'wedding hummus' on a regular basis - everything else seems second-rate to the wonderful Charlie and Evelyn's Table hampers! :-)
